Programs and Activities

Located in the west metro of Portland, OR, the Tualatin Valley Chapter is active throughout northern Oregon, bringing people together to conserve, protect, and restore Salmon, trout, steelhead and their watersheds.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

The heart of the Tualatin Valley Chapter is the community of supporters who come together to make a difference locally, learn new skills and build friendships. We host events and activities meant to bring us together and all are welcome, whether you are a member of Trout Unlimited or not! From our monthly chapter meetings that feature fly fishing guides, fly tiers, and conservation experts you are sure to find something that you enjoy, and meet great people who share your interests along the way.

CONSERVATION & RESTORATION

As a conservation nonprofit, the Tualatin Valley Chapter is working to conserve, protect, and restore our local rivers and stream, and the trout, Salmon, steelhead and other native species that call them home. We help organize volunteer days including tree plantings and trash cleanups, participate in community science programs to identify degraded stream habitat in need of help, and partner with TU national staff and state and local conservation organizations like the Tualatin River Keepers to drive forward larger initiatives like watershed planning, dam removal and landscape-scale restoration projects.

YOUTH EDUCATION

There’s nothing more important than inspiring the next generation to step forward as the conservation stewards of tomorrow. Through in-school programs like Trout In the Classroom, hands-on field days, family fishing days and partnerships with organizations like the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, Trout Unlimited’s Headwaters program reaches hundreds of youth a year with positive fishing and conservation learning. Together “We are building the next generation of river stewards and conservation-minded anglers.”
