Volunteer Opportunities
By River Steenson
Hi everyone, I wanted to let you know that we have two events coming up that we're requesting Trout Unlimited volunteer help with.
From the Sandy River Watershed Council:
"Come join Trout Unlimited and the Sandy River Watershed Council for a morning of planting native trees and shrubs to benefit migrating salmon habitat.
We’ll be continuing the reforestation of the Sandy-Salmon habitat restoration site, located 11 miles from Sandy, Oregon.
Two opportunities to join:
Saturday, October 10th, 9am-12pm
Saturday, October 24th, 9am-12pm
Location: Barlow Wayside Park, 60605 E. Barlow Trail Rd.
This is a free, all-ages event!
We’ll meet at 9:00 a.m., receive instructions, and commence lovingly placing plants in the ground.
Please bring shovels, weather-appropriate clothing wear, face masks/coverings, snacks, water, and warm beverages.
For additional information, please contact Bill Weiler, Sandy River Watershed Council, at 509-365-3972 or bill@sandyriver.org
