THE TROUT LINE

August 3, 2020

Welcome to The Trout Line Newsletter! This is our Tualatin Valley Trout Unlimited Chapter newsletter that will be coming out twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month.

 President's Corner

At the end of the March’s chapter meeting, I walked out hoping that it wasn’t going to be the last chapter meeting for a while but due to Covid-19 it was.  We had to cancel all board meetings but after 3 months I asked the board members to have a virtual board meeting using Zoom.

On June 23, the Tualatin Valley Chapter Board had their first virtual board meeting.  This was the first board meeting since Feb. 25 and there were a lot of things to discuss.  After reviewing the budget and discussing the new procedures that need to happen at events and chapter meetings because of Covid-19.

We talked to prospective new board members Derek Schroeder and David Cosner.  We learned about their background, interests, and how they see themselves contributing to the board and chapter.  The board all agreed that they would be a good fit for the board but we can officially vote them in until our chapter meeting in November.

Mike Gentry discussed the problem with the trees that were collected from the Christmas for Coho event and we talked about storage for the trees until they are ready for placement in the rivers.  Andy Andrews gave us an update on what outings had been canceled and what outings are still on the calendar for right now.

Right now I don’t know when we will have another chapter meeting at Lucky Lab.  I am looking to have virtual meetings with speakers to keep a connection with all of our chapter members.  Thank you for all of your patience during this difficult time.  Please keep safe.

Thank you,
Lori Day
President
