2017 Tualatin River Keepers Summer Conservation Camps

A group of dedicated TVTU members volunteered to help campers learn about cold water conservation and fly fishing at this year's Tualatin River Keepers Summer Conservation camps.

Dennis Biggins, Jim Fenner, Mike Gentry, Peter Gray, Erle Norman, Jon Pampush, and Johnandrew Slominski were on hand to teach the fundamentals of casting on the Tualatin River at Cook Park. One of the campers even had a bite using a fuzzy worm pattern.

Peter Gray also presented lessons on various conservation, fish biology and ecology topics to campers using the Stream Explorer materials developed by TU National.

All in all, it was both an educational and fun experience for the campers and volunteers!
