2023 Chapter Outings Schedule

2023 Fishing Trips - Sponsored by the Clackamas River and Tualatin Valley Chapters of Trout Unlimited

The Tualatin Valley and Clackamas Chapters plan joint outings each year.  This year’s outings schedule includes several spots.  The initial outing planned for late April at South Twin Lake was canceled as the lake was still frozen.  The planned outings are as follows.

May 20 at Pine Hollow Reservoir near Wamic.  This day trip outing is a good early-season destination and provides access to both trout and warm water species.

June 5-9 at Timothy Lake North Arm Campground.  The Clackamas Chapter gratefully reserved a number of camp spots early on, so members can show up and pick an empty spot or share with someone else.  Fishing there does provide a good opportunity at fish over 20 inches, with a variety of hatches depending on weather.

July 16 at Clear Lake in Mt. Hood National Forest.  This lake is just off Hwy. 26 on Mt. Hood.  This is a day trip, and the hope is that the fishing will hold up well with the wet spring and snowpack.

August 23 at Lost Lake in Mt. Hood National Forest.  This Lost Lake is on the north side of Mt. Hood near Hood River.  A day trip was planned in mid-week as it is a busy spot in the summer.  Boats can be rented at the resort if desired.  There are big rainbow here!

September 21-25 at Fall River Campground in Deschutes National Forest.  The Clackamas Chapter again has thankfully reserved most of the sites in advance, so those attending can pick or share a spot with the group.  Bring warm clothes and sleeping gear as nights can get very cold while days are often sunny and mild.  Many other close by fishing opportunities also exist.
